Shawna

Veterinary Assistant

From a young age, I knew working with animals was more than just a dream—it was my calling. Inspired by role models like Steve Irwin and Dr. Fitzgerald from Animal Planet ER, I set my sights on a career in veterinary medicine early on. I pursued my passion at Western, where I studied in the Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) program and proudly graduated in 2009. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to the field, with a particular love for surgery and the many challenges and rewards that come with it. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, our furry companions, and soaking up nature whenever I can.

Julia

Veterinary Assistant

Hi, I’m Julia! I’ve been working as a veterinary assistant for 7 years, and I’m on the path to vet school with hopes of starting by 2027. I’m passionate about animal care and working toward my career as a veterinarian. Outside of work and studying, you’ll find me enjoying tropical vacations, soaking up the beach vibes, hiking through nature, or unwinding with a good movie or show. I also love horseback riding—nothing beats the feeling of being horseback!

Tara

Veterinary Technician

I’ve been a vet tech for 16 years and absolutely love working with animals. I obtained my associates degree in Veterinary Technology at Western Career College in 2009. When I’m not at the clinic, you’ll find me soaking up the sunshine at the beach or flowing through a yoga session to unwind and stay active. My dog Basil is my sidekick, and we love spending time together. His favorite place is the beach, too. Life’s better with sunshine, waves, and a furry friend!

Shreya

Veterinary Assistant

Hi, I’m Shreya! I’m a vet tech assistant, currently working toward becoming a certified RVT. My passion for animal care keeps me busy, but when I’m not at work or studying, I love relaxing at home with my dog, Sunday. You’ll often find me curled up with a good book or spending quality time with my family. Balance is key, and I’m all about finding those peaceful moments between work, school, and life!

Chrissy

Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist

Hey, I’m Chrissy! I’m a receptionist and vet assistant with a passion for helping animals and the people who love them. When I’m not at work, you can usually find me out on an adventure with my daughter and our dog, Deku —whether it’s hiking through trails or just exploring new places. On lazier days, we’re all about cozying up at home with our cat Croox, baking something sweet, or whipping up a new recipe. Life’s a balance of adventure and relaxation, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
